Dear Elder Hintze:
You are hereby called to serve as a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. You are assigned to labor in the BRAZIL SANTA MARIA MISSION. You should report to the Brazil Missionary Training Center on Wednesday, August 7, 2013. You will prepare to preach the gospel in the Portuguese language.
This is the place.
As Nick writes home, sends pictures and tells us of his experiences in Brazil, we will share them here. You can subscribe to this blog and be notified as his incredible stories come in.
He leaves for the Missionary Training Center on Tuesday, August 6th and and enters the following day. We will be able to escort him and drop him off, where he will leave us for two years to serve the Lord. As a representative of Jesus Christ, Nick will teach and serve the people in Brazil, searching for those humble souls who seek Christ.
President Thomas S. Monson said: “We affirm that missionary work is a priesthood duty—and we encourage all young men who are worthy and who are physically able and mentally capable to respond to the call to serve. Many young women also serve, but they are not under the same mandate to serve as are the young men. We assure the young sisters of the Church, however, that they make a valuable contribution as missionaries, and we welcome their service.”
As a father, it is my honor and privilege to support my son in this worthy effort.
